Day 1: Malang – Mt Bromo – Ijen
We pick you up at your hotel at 01.30 o’clock in the morning. We leave for Mt Pananjakan, which is with it’s 2.702 m the highest view point in the surroundings. That will be a two hours drive. At Mt Pananjakan we drink some coffee or tea. At this view point we await the sun to rise. Hereafter we guide you to the sand sea that you will have to cross before you climb the stairs leading to the crater of Mt Bromo. It is possible to walk around the crater. After your return to the car it is around 09.00 am when we leave for a short drive to Cemaralawang. In Cemaralawang it is time for a well deserved breakfast. Hereafter we continue to Ijen with a stopover at Pasir Putih, in the north of East Java. You have time to take a bath in a mini pool filled with water from the hot spring in the neighborhood.
Day 2: Sempol – Ijen – Alas Purwo National Park
At 5 o’clock in the morning we leave for Paltuding, the starting point to hike to the top of Mount Ijen. Along the road we encounter sulphur-miners, who carry sulphur from the bottom of the crater to the road at the foot of the mountain. They carry each trip up to eighty kilo of sulphur, very impressive. After everybody is ready to leave, we hike back to Paltuding. From there we drive on to Alas Purwo National Park. We arrive in the afternoon, so you will have time to walk around.
Day 3: Alas Purwo National Park – Kalibaru
The Alas Purwo National Park situated at the southeast edge of East Java is certainly one of the most fascinating and exotic national parks in Indonesia. Draped with mangroves, lowland monsoon forests, beach forest and savanna, the Park will swamp your heart away. During your visit to Indonesia, don't miss to indulge in Alas Purwo National Park tour. The places you can visit or the things you can do in this park are manifold: Trianggulasi Beach, a religious historic temple named ‘Pura Agung Giri Salakan’, exploring a breeding place for turtles in Ngagelan, discovering Sadengan; a savanna where wild animals search for food. We stay for the night.
Day 4: Kalibaru – Malang/next destination
After breakfast, we continue the tour to Kalibaru Plantation to witness the processing of coffee, rubber and chocolate. You can also harvest coffee and chocolate if you like. Hereafter we can either drop you in Ketapang Harbor, Malang or another destination.
